WRITING
In practice Carlo Volf works in the field of architecture and is inspired by nature in the choice of materials and the performance buildings. Volf has won several prizes for his work within architecture, his work spanning from overall architectural planning and planning of daylight to indoor environmental quality and detailed design of furniture and lighting.
In research Carlo Volf puts renewed emphasis and focus upon light and architecture and their shared significance to health. The knowledge gained through his research has been implemented in practice in hospitals and schools, including New Herlev Hospital, New Psychiatry Ballerup and New Psychiatry Bispebjerg. Volf is affiliated at Mental Health Center Copenhagen as a senior researcher and founding member of New Interventions in Depression (NID-Group) at Region H and at VELUX Daylight Academy. He is head of Built Environment at CET.org and appointed external censor at the Royal Academy of Architecture.
